Global Top 100 Chemical Companies List

Prof Research Global Chemical 100 list has measured the world's largest chemical companies in terms of annual revenue. The list includes the sales in the petrochemicals, specialty chemicals, basic & inorganic chemicals, agrochemicals, industrial gases and coatings, and excludes sales in oil and gas exploration and extraction, fuel, metal mining/refining/processing, chemical trading as well as chemical pharmaceutical industry.

BASF, Sinopec, Reliance Industries, Dow, LyondellBasell, ExxonMobil Chemical, SABIC, Linde, Air Liquide and CNPC ranked the top 10 global chemical companies in 2020. Compared to the list of 2019, the top 10 remained unchanged, except that BASF beat Sinopec and reclaimed first place.

The revenue of the top 10 enterprises declined from 417.441 billion USD in 2019 to 385.123 billion USD in 2020, due to the fact that the COVID-19 epidemic hit the global economy in 2020, leading to a contraction in demand for commodities and a significant drop in prices.

In 2020, the revenue of the top 100 chemical companies in the world reached 1,191.823 billion USD, 4.14% down from 1,243.329 billion USD in 2019. Kingfa, Merck KGaA, and Kaneka replaced Chemicals Group, CEPSA, and Trinseo of Global Chemical 100 list 2019 in 2020. The threshold to enter the global 100 in 2020 is 3,596 million USD, 4.77% down from 3,776 million USD in 2019.
